Schedule a group visit

Schedule a visit for your group

We welcome groups for campus visits too! If your group is more than the size of a family or is made up of multiple potential future Nanooks, we’d love to plan a group visit for you. If your group is mostly family members, check out our individual in-person campus visit page.

The more the merrier

Your group campus visit can include presentations for everyone to meet UAF admissions and financial aid experts to learn more about UAF, the application process and scholarships. You’ll get to tour campus and get a behind-the-scenes look at UAF, and learn all about the world-class opportunities that are available for your future Nanooks.

What you’ll do

We’ll tailor your visit based on your group’s schedule, interests and goals. That might mean you go on a tour of the geophysical institute, or visit the student art gallery, or meet with the Rural Students Services team in the Gathering Room. Once you schedule your visit, we’ll be in touch with you to plan your group’s itinerary for the day.

Accessibility

At the şÚÁĎÉçapp, we work hard to improve our understanding of people with disabilities and are here to help any way we can. We will do our best to accommodate you and your experience on campus. Contact us at uaf-admissions@alaska.edu or call us at 907-474-7500 if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Tips for your group's visit

  • Pack your sneakers — It’s a good idea to wear comfortable footwear for walking. We’ll be showing your group all the best-known-secret-places on campus, and that means a lot of exploring.
  • 24 hour sun — In the summer, we celebrate the midnight sun! If your group is traveling from “the lower 48” or outside Alaska, sleep masks might be helpful to get enough rest.
  • Dress for the weather — Fairbanks winters get very cold, often below 0°F. Please bundle up to protect yourself from the elements. Alaskans will tell you, the secret is to wear layers.
  • Give your group extra time — It can be difficult to travel in the wintertime, especially if you’re coordinating multiple cars. Give your group plenty of time to get to your destinations.
  • Parking on campus — When we confirm the details of your group’s visit, we’ll chat with you about how you’re arriving and what the best options for parking will be for your group. Coach and school bus loading areas and parking are available.

Directions

Your visit will start in Signers’ Hall, which is located in the center of the main area of our Troth Yeddha’ campus. When coming to campus from Fairbanks, you can arrive from either the Alumni Drive entrance at the corner of College Road and University Avenue, or the Thompson Drive entrance, accessible from Geist Road.
