The UAF Department of Global Languages and Literatures’ Spanish Program, in collaboration with the UAF Spanish Club, is excited to invite students, faculty, and the wider community to a special screening of La Suprema (Colombia, 2023). This heartwarming comedy tells the story of a spirited teenage girl in a remote village without electricity, who rallies her neighbors to help her watch her uncle compete in a live, world championship boxing match. It’s a tale of perseverance, community, and the power of dreams — all wrapped up in rich Colombian culture and humor.
La Suprema will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles.
