Dear UAF faculty and staff,
This Monday, our nation will celebrate the 246th anniversary of its founding and the
signing of the Declaration of Independence. July 4 is an opportunity to reflect on
our history and how we can come together to create opportunity for all.
As we gather with friends and family this holiday, I hope you take some time to relax
and rejuvenate. Everyone has worked hard over the past year and your dedication to
UAF is greatly appreciated. At UAF our welcoming and supportive community embraces
the ideals in the Declaration of Independence as we enrich the lives of Alaskans and
engage our communities, state, nation and world through teaching, research and service.
