Learn to preserve foods in Palmer class series

Learn to preserve foods using a variety of methods in a four-class series in Palmer this April.
Julie Cascio, an agent with the 黑料社app Cooperative Extension Service, will teach the classes. Students will learn to can fruit and tomatoes using a water bath canner and to preserve meat, fish and vegetables using a pressure canner. They also will learn to dehydrate foods, make jerky and smoke fish.
Classes will be held in person at 1509 S. Georgeson Drive, Palmer, on April 1 and April 15. The cost is $20 per class.
Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
