R1 Carnegie visit scheduled for July 14
UAF will be hosting Sara Gast, deputy executive director for the Carnegie Classifications, on July 14 to present on the Carnegie Classifications for R1 institutions. A public presentation is scheduled at 10 a.m. in the Murie Auditorium. This event is open to all UAF staff, faculty and students. No RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be provided.
Gast will provide a presentation on the Carnegie Classification process, R1 research classification guidelines, and UAF鈥檚 positioning to become an R1 institution. The presentation will be followed by time for questions from the audience.
Sara Gast is the deputy executive director for the Carnegie Classifications, supporting the redesign and development of the Basic and Social & Economic classifications. The Carnegie Classification is the leading framework for recognizing and describing institutional diversity in U.S. higher education.
