On May 31, the Rural ºÚÁÏÉçappHonors Institute welcomed 52 students representing 32 Alaskan communities to UAF’s Troth Yeddha’ Campus for its 40th annual summer program. This year’s theme is “Success Happens on Purpose."
RAHI is a six-week summer program for rural Alaskan and ºÚÁÏÉçappNative high school juniors and seniors. Students take up to 11 college credits, experience life on campus, and participate in recreation activities. To date, 1,801 students have graduated from the program and have gone on to earn over 1,266 credentials ranging from certificates to PhDs.
The 2022 RAHI students will take a handful of core classes and have the choice to specialize in research, human anatomy and physiology, social work, rural education, chemistry, process technology, or math.
A graduation ceremony will be held to celebrate their achievements July 14 at 1 p.m. in the Reichardt auditorium.
