Who We Are

Painting OneTree ��appis an education, research and outreach program of the University of ��appFairbanks Institute of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Extension. We believe every child should have ample opportunities to explore their local environment through place-based and project-based education.

OneTree ��appuses an integrated STEM to STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math + Art) to engage students of all ages in tree-inspired projects that encourage scientific inquiry, stewardship, craftsmanship, and creativity.

OneTree ��appwas inspired by the English organization OneTree, in which 70 local artisans crafted beautiful objects from the wood of a single large oak felled in the Cheshire forest. It is this spirit of collaboration and partnership that makes OneTree ��appprojects possible. We receive tremendous support from Fairbanks North Star Borough School District teachers and staff, Fairbanks artists, Interior ��appcommunity members, local organizations, and the faculty, staff and students of the University of ��appFairbanks.
